JCD launches National Golden List program for import sector

Jordan Customs Department (JCD), in partnership with the participating government regulatory agencies, namely: "Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Environment, Standards and Metrology Organization , Food and Drug Administration, Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission and Telecommunications Regulatory Commission, launched today the National Gold List Program (NGL) for the import sector. The program emanated from the vision and mission of the customs in line with the royal directives to provide a distinguished high quality government service to improve customs work that supports the national economy, encourages local exports and provides an attractive investment environment.
At the launch ceremony, JCD Director General, Customs Major General Jalal Al-Qudah, said that all government agencies participating in the program have teamed up over the past years to work on the principle of true partnership with the private sector. Significantly, this contributed to the adoption of pioneering initiatives that translate true partnership between regulatory government agencies and the private sector, building on joint responsibility to achieve the objectives to strengthen the national economy.
Al-Qudah also added that the country's need to boost national economy and increase its competitiveness necessitates adopting pioneering projects to further facilitate trade and expedite goods clearance process, the thing, which will reflect positively on investment and business sectors and, in turn, elevate Jordan's rank in international reports. He pointed out that Jordan is among the top countries worldwide to adopt such pioneering programs, which offer a wide range of advantages and facilitations to NGL companies.
The ceremony included a presentation on success stories of these companies, and the delivery of certificates and honorary shields by the Director General. The participants expressed their interest and appreciation to JCD for the time and efforts dedicated to this launch event.
