  • In cooperation with other security agencies, Jordan Customs Department (JCD) personnel seized a factory manufacturing molasses (tobacco for water pipes) of faked famous brands and large quantities of bad flavors (juice).
Director of the Anti-smuggling Department, Col. Raed Al-Sheyyab, said that JCD personnel also seized packaging machines, tobacco for water pipes and faked famous brands printed on papers.
For the second time within a short period, JCD conducted two seizure operations to illegal tobacco manufacturing facilities. Such unlicensed facilities, which operate in underground rooms (basements), lack all health, safety and environment standards.
JCD's Director General, Customs Major General Jalal Al-Qudah, stressed that the JCD's strategies to enhance Customs control and combating illegal activities contributed, in large, to the Department's ability to confront any threat to society and the national economy.
